I was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where I was an avid field hockey player. I achieved my dream of becoming an elementary school teacher while playing field hockey in college. I married my high school sweetheart who is in the Army. We have lived in Missouri and Georgia where I taught first, third, and fifth grade and also coached at field hockey camps. With the many moves and changes that come with the military lifestyle, fitness has been a constant in my life.
Two summers ago, in the middle of our move to Massachusetts, we made a pit stop in Virginia Beach to have our daughter Chloe. My world was changed forever, especially when we moved away from our supportive family when she was only 6 weeks old. I was actively searching for any mommy baby classes I could get my hands on. When I found Stroller Strides, I thought it would be a great way to work out and meet new people in the area. Boy, was I right! Being a new mom and without your family around has its many challenges, but having a village of moms provides amazing moral support. I truly look forward to going to work out every day. Not only do I get a fun, energizing workout, but my daughter has the opportunity to socialize and makes friends, too.
It has been almost two years since I took my first stroller strides class and I am so glad that I did. My lifelong love of fitness and teaching made the idea of becoming a Stroller Strides instructor a perfect fit for me. I am excited to inspire others the way this community has inspired me!
